Initiated and launched with the participation of the President of the Institute of Reforms, the GA GUMA project is aimed at facilitating of EU accession of Ukraine and its allies via supporting green transformation and implementation of policies in the following areas: climate change prevention and adaptation, energy efficiency, construction and reconstruction, smart mobility, the circular economy, the pursuit of zero pollution, the food system and the preservation of ecosystems.
Government authorities in collaboration with the Stockholm Environment Institute, project high-caliber expert teams and national implementing partners will also contribute to:
▪️ Fulfillment of commitments under the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Synchronization of national policies with the goals of the European Green Deal.
It’s worth noting that despite Russian aggression, Ukraine is committed to following the European Green Deal. Furthermore, there is a clear understanding at the highest political level that the country’s recovery must be exclusively “green.” According to Deputy Minister for European Integration Yevhen Fedorenko, most aspects of the European Green Deal will serve as the basis for Ukraine’s future green transformation across all sectors of the economy.
